International stream (English only) - COBIS Candidate Member
In the first place, our choice for becoming a British school was that the British curriculum has a large, global vision and shows an incredible flexibility in bringing hands-on experiences for children, which enables us to develop a customised curriculum through Multiple Intelligences and Cooperative Learning so that each student can excel in the learning process. Therefore, the CLAS International School applies the Curriculum of England and Wales giving priority to English literacy and Mathematics in terms of daily teaching time.
In Science, History, Geography, Art and Design Technology, ICT and Music, children learn about the world in which they live as well as developing their own creativity and critical thinking through elements of Thinking Schools, Cooperative Learning and Group Investigation by Y. Sharan. The Emergent Curriculum, Reggio-inspired offers students the opportunity to enquire about different topics of their interest and current affairs (Flash World News Assembly) .
Both streams are enriched with German, French, Italian and other amazing optional clubs such as English Drama, Horse Riding, Forest Club, Italian Cuisine & Food for Life, Swimming, Piano and Multiple Intelligences flow centres for Stage 1.
All curricular subjects are organized in transdisciplinary units of inquiry including a visit or a guest speaker. Musicians, authors, poets, story tellers and artists are invited into school according to their availability.
Students have the option of taking the University of Cambridge Young Learners examinations, which gives them an internationally - recognized qualification in English.
CLAS International School applies for the National Authorisation - ARACIP (The Romanian Agency for Quality in Education) and it has already obtained the international recognition COBIS (Council of British International Schools) receiving the COBIS Candidate Member status on the 2nd June 2016.
